Notes for Linux
Serial connection
Enable recognition for the serial USB connection, which is a FTDI chip with TI codes:
sudo su modprobe ftdi-sio echo 0451 c32a > /sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/ftdi_sio/new_id
Alternative: use this udev rule:
